In times of an emergency it is important to know how to move a person correctly. If they are moved incorrectly their injuries can be worsened. You must first know if this if you need an emergency move or a non emergency move.
Emergency Moves
- Should be used if a person cannot walk, needs to be moved quickly, or if your surroundings are unsafe and you need to move yourself and the patient out of danger.
Non Emergency Moves
- Should be used if the scene is safe, the patient is stable, and always suspect that there may have been a spinal injury especially in the case of a car accident.
